Using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) can greatly help you boost search results for advertisements, postings, blogs, pretty much anything that appeals to a group. Say you are writing a personal blog about Fourth of July food. You would want to find the key words or terms associated with the holiday.
Once you search the key words that you want, you look at the results to find alternate terms associated with the words/terms you originally sought. Using MOZ, a Software as a Service (SaaS) company based in Seattle, Washington, that sells inbound marketing and marketing analytic software subscriptions, I decided to search about hamburgers because that tends to be a popular Fourth of July dish. The alternate terms that come up while searching hamburgers seem to be associated with recipes (see image below). This is very helpful because it helps in achieving hits on your blog posting.
Ultimately you want to use key words, terms or phrases (that are associated with top search results) within your blog to boost search results and its relevancy. An example for the Fourth of July blog specifically about hamburgers could be, “The best hamburger recipes to use for the Fourth of July”.
